About veiland

I honestly have no idea what you guys might want to know about me so I thought I might answer random questions. If you have something you want to know, ask me!

  1. What was your favorite food when you were a child?–Macaroni and Cheese. Still is.
  2. What’s the #1 most played song on your iPod? Right now? (checking iTunes)
    1. In R&B–Mint Condition, You Send Me Swinging
    2. In Classical–Barcarole; at the moment, Ravel & Chopin are on heavy rotation.
  3. What is one of your favorite quotes? LOL. Has my love of Machiavelli not shown through?
    1. “And it ought to be remembered that there is nothing more difficult to take in hand, more perilous to conduct, or more uncertain in its success, than to take the lead in the introduction of a new order of things.” Niccolò Machiavelli

    2. Since love and fear can hardly exist together, if we must choose between them, it is far safer to be feared than loved because… love is preserved by the link of obligation which, owing to the baseness of men, is broken at every opportunity for their advantage; but fear preserves you by a dread of punishment which never fails.–Machiavelli, Il Principio (The Prince)

    3. There is no avoiding war; it can only be postponed to the advantage of others. Machiavelli, Il Principio (The Prince)

    4. “It is a curious thing, Harry, but perhaps those who are best suited to power are those who have never sought it. Those who, like you, have leadership thrust upon them, and take up the mantle because they must, and find to their own surprise that they wear it well.”–Albus Dumbledore

    5. “You’re not going to let her do this, are you?” Bones snorted. “Let her? Mate, if you think you can control a woman, you must be single—-and a thousand pounds says she beats your arse.” ― Jeaniene Frost, This Side of the Grave

    6. “There is always a choice.” “You mean I could choose certain death?” “A choice nevertheless, or perhaps an alternative. You see I believe in freedom. Not many people do, although they will of course protest otherwise. And no practical definition of freedom would be complete without the freedom to take the consequences. Indeed, it is the freedom upon which all the others are based.”― Terry Pratchett, Going Postal

    7. “Your truest friends are the ones who will stand by you in your darkest moments–because they’re willing to brave the shadows with you–and in your greatest moments–because they’re not afraid to let you shine.”

    8. “Some women choose to follow men, and some women choose to follow their dreams. If you’re wondering which way to go, remember that your career will never wake up and tell you that it doesn’t love you anymore.”― Lady Gaga

  4. What’s your favorite indoor/outdoor activity?
    1. Indoor: Sleeping
    2. Outdoor: Going back indoors. I live in Florida. Who wants to be outdoors?
  5. What chore do you absolutely hate doing? Name one. It’s that one.
  6. What is your favorite form of exercise? The one that doesn’t require sweat….Otherwise, I’m OK with ellipticals.
  7. What is your favorite time of day/day of the week/month of the year?
    1. Day? 4AM. The only time I’m guaranteed to be asleep
    2. Day of the week? Friday. The endless possibilities of the weekend in front of me.
    3. Month? September. School’s back in session, the summer crowds are gone, the snowbirds haven’t arrived, and the travel delays finally start decreasing.
  8. What’s your least favorite mode of transportation? Oddly enough, cars. I’m too impatient now. I can go from Tampa to NYC in 2 hours. It takes me 5 hours, in my car, to get from my house to my parents and that’s 1/3 the distance.
  9. What is your favorite body part? I’ve always liked my mouth. I could be a lip model most days.
  10. What sound do you love? My grandmother’s voice, when she isn’t scolding me for not visiting more often.

I am looking to download your music. I am sad to say Albus Dumbledore and Lady Gaga are the only quotes I know by sight so I will be adding to the books I place on hold from the library. I am southeast also and used to travel to the Gulf for work. I agree about FLA weather. I need four seasons that the temperature varies more than hot hotter hottest. I thought you were into exercise with all the sweat you put Steph through. I love cars on open highways, but I hate Miami I95. I have never been that scared to be driving. I love spring and the garden weeks we have in the south. For a short time everything seems fresh and new.

Your sight is getting stronger with each addition.

LOL. Love your comment about weather. I used to tell friends that Florida had four seasons: Hot, Hotter, ‘Why did you buy a car with leather interior’, and two-week cold-snap!
Oh god no, I hate exercise. People have made all kinds of assumptions about me based on how I write the characters but nope, I share Steph’s hatred of treadmills, even though I own one.

I have clothes over my elliptical. It is my second closet. I go to the gym just to see other suffer with me. I can do that 4/5 times a week before I can do anything at home. It would be in the yard sale but I can’t get it down the stairs.

You know I love comments (and reviews!)
